HEALTH IS WEALTH


Obesity is a major health concern and a consequence of our modern lifestyle. More than one billion people worldwide are overweight, and of these, 300 million are obese.Even though inherited factors play a role, the major cause is imbalance between supply and expenditure of energy. Excess weight further causes lowering of metabolic rate, thyroid problems, respiratory disorders, type-2 diabetes, increased cholesterol and high blood pressure.Diets like refined flour, sweetmeats and aerated drinks fool our body by increasing sugar level instantly and killing our natural appetite for a balanced diet. This accumulated by excess fat deposition in the body leads to health and weight problems. There should be a balance of catabolism (burning of food) with that of anabolism (deposition of food) in order to maintain a perfect body weight.
