5 GYM RULES YOU MUST FOLLOW:
· AVOID MONOPOLISING THE MACHINES:
Don’t hog the machine as if it is your personal property. Remember, there
is somebody waiting to use it too. It’s ok to take more time over it when the
gym is not crowded. At the same time, be patient when you are waiting for
somebody to finish their workout. Gym enthusiasts have a stipulated time
allotted for the treadmill and the cross trainer, but people forget to follow
it and get annoyed when they are reminded. Gym goers suggest that gyms should
start charging fines for extra time on machines.
· WIPE IT OFF:
You should never leave the treadmill damp with sweat once you finish
running. Make it a habit to wipe the bench, treadmill or any equipment you have
used. This keeps the place hygienic and prevents spread of germs.
· TAKE CARE OF THE WEIGHTS:
Don’t keep throwing the weights here and there. Instead make an effort to
keep them in place. Just the way a kid is told to take care of his books and
toys, you should, in the same way, take care of weights. Sometimes, keep the
dumbbells on the gym floor can make someone trip over. You might even end up
hitting someone unknowingly if you fling your arms recklessly. Care should be
taken in the way you handle weights – since they are made of iron and can
damage the gym floor as well.
· AVOID STARING:
We all know that there are good looking men and women in the health club,
but that does not give any man or woman the liberty to stare; it is bad manners
to do so. It is better that the person concentrates on what he/she has come
there for – to work out.
· MIND YOUR BUSINESS:
The gym can be a great place for exercising, but don’t make it a place
for socialising or gossiping. Don’t give fitness advice because only trainers
have the right to impart expert tips and comments.
